More Information

Art and Science collide in this program all about agar art: art created by culturing microorganisms in patterns. Lee County Libraries is partnering with Rebecca Wall, a Lab Technician for the Microbiology Department of the State Health Lab and the third-place winner in the 2021 International Agar Art Contest run by the American Society for Microbiology.

Children are invited to come learn more about what it s like to work in a lab, find out how scientists can paint with bacteria, and make a representation of agar art using craft materials. All supplies are provided.

This program is aimed at children in late elementary school and middle school and will be held in-person and on Facebook Live (@LeeCountyLibrariesNC). If you plan to attend in-person, registration is required by calling 919-718-4665.
