Hands on STEM activities include:

  • Construct a drum to help celebrate the Chinese new year and to study the sound waves that help create the noise of the drums.

  • Learn about the history and importance of the Great Wall of China and build a model of it out of toothpicks and marshmallows.

  • Explore how a rotor works while building a replica of the bamboo dragonfly toy invented in ancient China around 400-500 BC.

  • Experiment with lift, drag, and thrust as you learn about the relationship between kites and the Chinese New Year!

Reminder: Chaperones are required. Adults must stay with their children throughout the event.
