More Information

Explore the lower foothills of Usery on a rewarding 4.6-mile loop that connects the Lost Sheep, Moon Rock, Blevins, and Chain Fruit trails. This hike is easy- moderate due to the distance, sandy sections, and a slight and gradual elevation gain of approximately 200 feet. We’ll hike at a comfortable pace, discovering desert life and learning about our unique ecosystem. Please bring plenty of water (at least 2 liters recommended), snacks, sun protection, and wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes. This is a wonderful way to log miles for the 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge! For more details on the challenge, please visit: https://www.maricopacountyparks.net/things-to-do/activity/100-miles-in-100-days-challenge/. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center, where we’ll meet. No pets, please. MEETING LOCATION: Nature Center Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Usery Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 4 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. Registration for this program will close on 12/26/25.
