More Information
Sally Ride Science Academy offers science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) workshops for students entering the 3rd-12th grade. Students assume the roles of space explorer, marine biologist, computer programmer and more as they immerse themselves in hands-on projects.
Sally Ride, the first American woman in space and high-profile advocate of diversity in science, helped start a national dialogue about the importance of involving girls and boys of all backgrounds in STEM studies and careers. Today, Sally Ride Science at UC San Diego continues Ride’s educational legacy with a range of innovative STEAM (STEM plus arts) programs. Top-notch STEAM instructors lead these workshops inspiring students and making STEM careers more accessible.
Our Academy's workshops let students investigate coding, engineering, space science, marine biology and more. This year, students will earn 1.5 pre-college credits for each workshop.
Choose from popular returning workshops such as Filmmaking, Messy Discoveries, Programming and Tiny Houses or new ones like Microscope Biology, Rocket Science, Stop Motion Animation and Exploring Stephen Hawking.
