More Information
The Aerospace Engineering & Mission Design Lab is a live online program for students in grades 7–12 and college who want to explore aerospace engineering, aviation, drones, satellites, and space mission design. No prior aerospace experience is required.
Students learn through interactive instruction and hands-on simulation labs covering aerodynamics and flight mechanics, aircraft systems and propulsion, aviation weather and navigation, drones and autonomous systems, satellites, orbital mechanics, and space mission planning.
Rather than simply learning aerospace terminology, students use flight, orbit, and mission-design simulations to test ideas, analyze engineering trade-offs, interpret data, and make design decisions.
The program culminates in a Capstone Mission Design Defense. Students develop and present their own aerospace mission concept, which may involve a CubeSat, autonomous drone mission, aircraft safety challenge, satellite imaging mission, Mars habitat concept, or another aerospace engineering problem.
The program is taught live online by instructors with aerospace, aviation, engineering, and related STEM backgrounds. Students may participate through a 6-week weekly cohort or a 1-week intensive format.
Enrollment is available year-round, with new cohorts offered regularly throughout the year.
