Students will explore the methods of animal tracking and how to use knowledge of science to track animals. Six animals that are endemic to the BNL site will be discussed and students will apply what they learned through an interactive guessing game and coloring activity.
A virtual visit to Brookhaven’s Science Learning Center will excite and engage students in grades 1 to 5. Young scientists can enjoy discovery-based, hands-on learning experiences centered on a variety of scientific principles.
Session Information:
-Flexible instruction for whether students are in the classroom or at home -Interactive, instructor-led session facilitated with students using materials from school or home (can also be demonstration-based if students do not have access to materials)
-Teachers will receive a detailed Teacher Notes guide upon booking -Secure link to Zoom videoconferencing platform will be provided
-Sessions are 30 minutes, Tuesday to Friday at 9:30am, 10:30am, 12:30pm, and 1:30pm (plan for additional time to get settled in the virtual classroom)
-One class per session
