Our next event in the East Bay will be hosted at Two Pitchers Oakland (2344 Webster St, Oakland, CA 94612; just a few minutes’ walk from the 19th St BART station) on Tuesday, September 9 at 7:30 pm.
This month, we have two very exciting and wildly different talks lined up: Daniel Brethauer (UCB) will tell us all about rocking out to heavy metals. Then stick around for a talk by Dr. Jean Somalwar (UCB/Stanford/KIPAC), who will talk about supermassive black holes and their unknown origins!
Two Pitchers is all ages and pet friendly, and just a few minutes’ walk from the 19th St BART station. Free to attend – can’t wait to see you there!
Our FREE Astronomy on Tap events feature accessible, engaging science presentations on topics ranging from planets to black holes to the beginning of the Universe. There is always lots of time to ask questions and interact with the presenters and other scientists who inevitably stick around for the beer.
