About the retreat Why attend? Confronting biodiversity loss and climate change on a daily basis can lead to burnout, despair, and a sense of helplessness, collectively known as ecological grief. For conservation to succeed, we need to support those involved and build their individual and collective capacities. We are offering this first retreat as a pilot for a larger program to integrate mindful leadership and emotional resilience into conservation training and professional development, eventually leading to a more resilient culture of conservation scientists. Approach By offering individual practices and creating peer support networks, we aim to achieve a cultural shift that supports interdependence within the conservation community. The retreat will provide immersive training in mindfulness, yoga, and breathwork. Pre- and post-retreat surveys and interviews will assess the impact of the experience on participants’ well-being and capacity. Join us! This retreat is about moving from paralysis to possibility, from overwhelm to regeneration, within ourselves and for the planet. Help us explore what it means to grieve, heal, and reimagine our role in these times of change. Hosted by the Arizona State University Center for Biodiversity Outcomes, this retreat will create space for personal renewal, reconnection, and professional growth. Retreat Pricing Single Room: $1,172* Double Room: $1,009* Please reach out to ASU Center for Biodiversity Outcomes for password to book due to limited supply. *Registration includes 3-nights at the Sedona Mago Retreat Center, all activities and meals.
