More Information

Join us at 7:30PM PDT, Friday, September 19th and Saturday, September 20th for two very special Astronomy on Tap events in Baker, NV as part of the Great Basin National Park Astronomy Festival! On Friday night, we’ll hear from Caltech research scientists Cameron Hummels and Ruby Byrne discussing “The Science of Black Holes” and “Uncovering the History of the Universe with Radio Astronomy.” On Saturday night, we’ll hear from Caltech research scientists Mike Kelzenberg and Cameron Hummels giving presentations entitled “Can We Send Spacecraft to Exoplanets?” and “Simulating the Universe on a Supercomputer.” In addition, we will have telescopes on-hand for guided stargazing, professional astronomers to answer your science questions, and astronomically-themed pub trivia with prizes!

These events are being hosted by the crew from Astronomy on Tap Los Angeles, as part of the Great Basin Astronomy Festival, a weekend of astronomy and space science out in one of the darkest skies in the United States.

The event is free and open to all ages. No reservations are necessary, just show up and stay only as long as you want. To view our past events, see our location page. For more information about our future events and affiliated Stargazing Lecture Series at Caltech, see our website.
