Astronomy on Tap NYC 161: High Gravity

Join us for the Astronomy on Tap NYC’s 161st event, and the next in our monthly series at Pete’s Candy Store! Astronomy on Tap is fun and informative, with professional scientists and educators, plus games, prizes, and a bit of learning while drinking.

This month, we are partying heavy with a high gravity single malt – that’s right, Ardbeg will be joining us with their Smokiverse release! We are also celebrating gravity – gravity lensing, and the 10th anniversary of the first gravity wave detections! Our speakers will be: •Lisa Pope, who will speak about Ardbeg and will be out back after pouring samples! •Saavik Ford, CUNY & AMNH – on gravity waves! •James Chan, CUNY & AMNH – on gravitation lensing in the universe!
