**Tucson’s local flavor of Astronomy on Tap, Space Drafts, is excited to present its 102nd edition! This month, we’ll be joined by optical sciences graduate student Josh Liberman, who will tell us about hunting for alien worlds with huge telescopes, and Steward Observatory graduate student Jeniveve Pearson who will tell us about Rubin Observatory’s search for transient objects. **

The Search for Alien Worlds From Earth’s Largest Telescopes– Josh Liberman

&

Gotta Catch ’em All! Completing the Transient Pokédex with the Rubin Observatory– Jeniveve Pearson* *

We’ll be out on the patio of the Toole location of Borderlands Brewing Company (119 E. Toole Ave, Tucson AZ, accessible via stairs and a ramp) at 7:30pm MST on December 17. There is street parking near the venue, and several bus lines run to the Toole/7th Ave. bus stop right next door. If you’re feeling up for a bit of walking, the Sun Link street car runs to Congress/6th Ave (if going westbound) or Broadway/Church (if going eastbound), about half a mile away from Borderlands. And you can also join us online at bit.ly/SpaceDrafts102 if you can’t make it in person!
