More Information
Help monitor the water quality of local rivers and creeks in southeast Michigan. As a volunteer, you’ll learn to collect water samples, measure stream flow, and use hand-held chemistry sensors. No prior experience is needed—just a desire to be outdoors and help protect the Huron River and Downriver waterways.
This program supports long-term, participatory science data collection on nutrients, contaminants, and pollutant hot spots. Your work guides local restoration efforts and stormwater management decisions. Over 20 years of volunteer data have already shaped policies and tracked progress toward improving water quality throughout the Huron River Watershed.
