More Information

Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) in freshwater environments uses hydrophones. These can be used to record the underwater sounds of things like invertebrates and frogs. This can be used to measure biodiversity as well as changes to an environment over time.

CitizenPAM invites applicants to submit their ideas for applying our PAM system. Whether it be different environments and locations or unique ideas for organisms to be studied. The winners will be the most innovative and unique applications and they will receive the use of a full prototype PAM system in spring 2025.
