City of Chandler: Lava River Cave Field Trip

Explore the mile-long, wave-like lava tube cave in Flagstaff, Arizona. Formed roughly 700,000 years ago by molten rock, the cave presents a chance to unearth nature’s creativity and learn firsthand how volcanic heat causes rock to partially liquefy and drip. Please note that this is an undeveloped cave and you will need at least two sources of light.
