Who are you calling a pig? Javelina, also known as Collared Peccaries, are actually not pigs, even though they are commonly confused with them. Join us and learn more about these highly sociable, widely distributed, and often seen animals here in Arizona! We will talk about their history, behavior, adaptations, and practical tips for peaceful coexistence in our shared neighborhoods. Whether javelina regularly visit your backyard or you’ve only glimpsed them from afar, you’ll discover there’s much more to these animals than meets the eye. Instructed by Jeff Meyers, Wildlife Biologist, at the Arizona Game and Fish Department.   Event Details: What: Foothills Speaker Series: Javelina Date: Tuesday, January 6th, 6:00 PM Location: Holland Center, 34250 N 60th St, Scottsdale, AZ 85266 Admission: Free and open to the public, all ages welcome.
