April Discovery STEM Club Schedule
Theme: Planet Protectors
Age Group: 3rd – 5th
Week 1 (4/6): Eco-Scientists
Calling all young environmental scientists! Learn about how we affect the world around us, and what you can do to protect our planet by participating in an Eco-Scavenger hunt, making your own upcycled, reusable grocery bag, and learning how to protect and test our local aquifers from pollution.

Week 2 (4/13): Eco-Engineers
Practice the engineering design process by building and testing your own eco-solutions! Make sure your community doesn’t dry up by engineering an aqueduct. Then learn about sustainable energy solutions by building and testing a wind turbine. Finally, explore the journey of stormwater and how we can protect our aquifers from polluted stormwater runoff.

Week 3 (4/27): Tech-Protectors
Future coders and eco-protectors unite! Learn how coding, technology, and even AI can help you protect our oceans! Learn the basics of block-based programming with Scratch and practice those skills by programming your own Shark Saver game. You will even help an AI search for trash in our oceans!
