More Information

Get ready to launch into an epic adventure with our mechanical engineering rocket propulsion camp! This isn’t your typical camp; it’s a hands-on journey into the thrilling world of rocket and air-breathing propulsion. Participants will experience a range of classroom and hands-on learning activities exploring the aspect of propulsion system design, analysis, fabrication, and testing. But that’s not all—prepare for a voyage through the history of air-breathing and rocket propulsion, exploring where these systems have been and where they’re headed. The future of propulsion is in your hands! Learn simple propellant chemistry and participate in mixing of solid propellant and casting it into grains. Static test fire solid rocket motors from the grains they cast. Participate in simple fabrication methods such as 3-D printing (rapid prototyping), water jet, laser cutter, and traditional machine tools. You won’t just be learning; you’ll be working side by side with Embry‑Riddle professors in our cutting-edge engineering lab. Get ready to grasp the basics of propulsion—the thrust equation, conservation of mass, momentum, and energy. Design and build your very own rocket from “off the shelf” parts, and yes, you’ll even get to launch it into the sky! Get ready to ignite your passion for propulsion in a camp that’s not just informative but an absolute blast! For: High School Students ages 14-18, must be 14 years old by May 1st, 2024. Tuition: $1700 When: June 9th - June 14th, 2024 Check-in is on Sunday - Classes begin Monday morning at 8:00AM
