More Information

Experience the nocturnal world under dark, starry skies and learn how to conserve them. Light pollution threatens not only our “right to starlight”, but can affect energy consumption, wildlife, and health. Discover how you can become a citizen-scientist by identifying familiar constellations and measuring night sky brightness (with a phone app) through the Globe at Night campaign. In case of clouds, the date will be October 23.

Leader: John Heasley, Driftless Stargazing LLC

Evenings Afield is a program of the Lowery Creek Watershed Initiative. One evening per month, we set aside time for learning in the field from experts and each other, socializing with like-minded landowners and residents, and seeing results of management methods on different properties.
