More Information

Join us for a hands-on tour of some of the critical technologies that have dramatically increased our understanding of the marine environment. We’ll explore the marine environment around Dauphin Island from the surface waters to the ocean bottom through the building and testing of hydrophones (underwater microphones), current drifters, ROVs, sensor systems, and other technologies tools. We’ll also take time to build these tools, experience the engineering design process and discuss STEM lesson plans and activities that will work for your learning environment.

The Exploring STEM in the Ocean workshop is suitable for educators working with elementary through high school students, afterschool groups, or informal learning center audiences.
