Family and Friends Night

Our monthly meeting on Saturday, April 12, 2025, will be a Family and Friends Event!

Please bring your family and friends to our River Ridge Observatory (RRO) for a day of wholesome fun, tasty food, and many Astronomy activities.

The festivities will begin at 4:00 PM with games and activities for the children, Astronomy talks and demonstrations, and mentoring sessions on using our club telescopes and other equipment. If you want help setting up your scope, contact Bruce McMath at 501-681-5403.

PLUS: Bring your telescope to the RRO if you need assistance caring for, aligning, or using it.

There will also be a beginners’ workshop on how to take astrophotography images with smartphones, digital cameras, and dedicated astrophotography cameras and another on how to process your images. 

Dinner will be hotdogs (beef and pork) for children and anyone who wants them and bratwurst (pork and chicken) for adults, with all the fixings prepared using our club’s grills. If the sky is clear, there will be a star party and sessions on identifying the brightest stars and constellations.
