More Information

For the first time, an ecological expedition explored the caves of Bhutan, a country with no prior cave biological research. This study aimed to uncover the hidden life of Bhutan’s caves including bats, arthropods, and charismatic megafauna like tigers and bears. During field operations, the team mapped caves, documented bat roosts, recorded bat calls, collected invertebrates, and monitored animal use and cave climatic conditions. Join Dr. Wynne for an exciting inaugural tour of the fascinating ecosystems of Bhutan’s subterranean realm. Hybrid Event: Webinar requires registration, in-person does not require a reservation.       Part of Flagstaff Festival of Science, a free annual 10-day event wholly designed to promote awareness and enthusiasm for science in and about northern Arizona and beyond, and is fondly known as the Best 10 Days of the Year. Established in 1990, it is the longest, continuously running, entirely free science festival in the world.
