Flagstaff Festival of Science: Mushroom Foraging 101

Mike Dechter of the Arizona Mushroom Society will be presenting on some basics of the cryptic kingdom - mushrooms and fungi. This presentation will be for those with incidental knowledge and curiosity about fungi and will cover the roles of fungi in our lives, basic mushroom anatomy, and identification of wild mushrooms. The last part of the presentation focuses on a few easy to ID, edible wild mushrooms that grow here in northern Arizona.       Part of Flagstaff Festival of Science, a free annual 10-day event wholly designed to promote awareness and enthusiasm for science in and about northern Arizona and beyond, and is fondly known as the Best 10 Days of the Year. Established in 1990, it is the longest, continuously running, entirely free science festival in the world.
