Learn about Language Science

How do language scientists describe the sounds of language? Why do different languages have different words for the sounds that animals make? In this live, virtual workshop, PhD students from the University of Maryland will guide elementary school students through two activities about the sounds of language. We’ll use the scientific method to develop and test hypotheses about language, and learn how to think like linguists!

Our team of presenters has brought these discovery-based learning activities to 20 classrooms and students love our engaging visuals and interactive teaching style. We hope to see you on August 9!
