More Information

Start off Saturday morning with a fun casual hike through the desert with Ranger Derik as you learn about the many plants and animals that call the Sonoran Desert home. The hike will cover 4 miles of the Mule Deer trail starting from the nature center parking lot. The trail is rated as moderate so expect rolling hills and the trail to be rocky and sandy in many places as you travel in and out of washes. Supporting shoes and hiking poles are encouraged if balance is an issue for you. Please bring a headlamp or flashlight for the evening portion of the hike. The nature center will be closed so you will need to have water (2 – 3 liters) with you before the hike and there are also no bathrooms at the trailhead. Please no pets MEETING LOCATION: Nature center main entry patio Limit 20 participants. To register, please call Regional Park at 602-506-2930 ext. 5 with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call back ASAP so those on the waiting list may be contacted. Registration for this program will close on 7/18/24     Free with Park Fee
