Gain an appreciation for birds beyond the turkey this holiday weekend. Interested in learning about birding, but not sure if it’s right for you? Ranger Jacque gives a beginner’s glimpse into the birding world in this introductory program. From hobbyists to extreme bird-a-thon competitors, birding is a popular past time all over the world thanks to its relative ease and affordability. Yet for those newly interested, it can seem overwhelming. How do people recognize one bird among the 570 species in Arizona? It may not be as difficult as it seems if you know what to look for. What do you need to start birding? Start here at this casual drop-in table for an intro to birding. Bring binoculars if you have them, and download the Merlin app (developed by Cornell) prior to arrival to get the most out of your experience.
