Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Discovery Station – Wildlife of the Sonoran Desert

Join Ranger Derik after your morning hikes in the park and learn about the many animals that call the Estrella Mountains home. A Discovery station will be set up in the Nature Center with animal pellets, live insects, live arachnids, snake skins, and other artifacts found in and around the park. If the snakes in the nature center are not currently shedding, you may get a chance to touch a few live snake species. The ranger at the table will be available to answer any questions you may have about the wildlife found within the Sonoran Desert.
