More Information
Explore the Sonoran Desert with Ranger Nikki and learn about some of the plants and animals that you can see along the trails at San Tan, including a variety of birds, reptiles, mammals, trees, shrubs and cacti. Kids can also learn how to become a Jr. Ranger and receive a workbook to take home. This is a family-friendly, slow-paced stroll on the service road that will be no more than 2 miles total. The terrain is mostly smooth and even with little elevation change along the way. Wide-wheeled strollers can navigate the trail but there is a short section of sand at the beginning (and at the end on return portion) where you may need to use extra pushing power or lift the stroller altogether. There are two time options for this hike: 11am-12pm or 1-2pm. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen and plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center. MEETING LOCATION: Main trailhead picnic table Precise Meeting Location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/1QipJJwBggY4Vtbv6 No registration required.
