Join Ranger Nikki on an easy, slow-paced walk to learn about our fascinating Sonoran Desert. Explore the Sonoran Desert with Ranger Nikki and learn about some of the plants and animals that you can see along the trails at McDowell, including a variety of birds, reptiles, mammals, trees, shrubs and cacti. This is a family-friendly slow-paced stroll on North Trail. It is an out-and-back walk for one mile total. The terrain is mostly smooth and even with little elevation change along the way. There are two time options for this hike: 9:30-10:30am or 11am-12pm. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen and plenty of water. No pets, please. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center and at two locations along Asher View Drive, just north and south of the trailhead.
