Join Ranger Olivia on an evening stroll to watch the full moon rise over the lake. Ranger Olivia will lead you on an evening walk to enjoy a peaceful evening in the desert as the full moon rises. We will also keep an eye and ear out for any creatures that may be stirring, such as owls, coyotes, rodents and more. This trail that is approximately 3 miles total distance and is rated moderate with an elevation gain of about 400 feet. We will be hiking up to Yavapai Point, where we will get a full view of the lake to enjoy the moon glow. The terrain is level for the first portion but then begins to increase in elevation with portions of small to medium rocks underfoot. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring and flashlight and plenty of water. No pets, please. Restrooms and water are available at the trailhead. PLEASE NOTE: Outdoor summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events.
