More Information
Join Ranger Jacque for a beautiful evening hike under the moon and stars. : Come watch the full moon rise over the Superstition mountains! We’ll take the Blevins trail to its easternmost point, where we’ll wait for what should be a spectacular moonrise. When we’ve had our fill of that, we’ll take Blevins west to Noso, and then north back to the parking lot, looking for nocturnal wildlife along the way. At the end, we’ll do some naked-eye stargazing for planets and constellations. This is a family-friendly hike, where over two miles we’ll enjoy the beauty of a desert landscape silvered by the moon and stars. Trails are easy-moderate, so expect some loose rock, with slightly uneven terrain and about 100 ft gradual elevation change. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes, bring water, and a flashlight. Restrooms and water are available near the parking lot. No pets, please. MEETING LOCATION: Trailhead Staging Area/Blevins trailhead (east side of parking lot) Map of Meeting location: https://maps.app.goo.gl/qn8vBGTM2UzhVYKh9 Limit 30 participants.
