Join a park volunteer on a hike back in time to the Gold Rush and stagecoach era. Our journey will take us to the Willow Springs area, where we will visit the remains of an abandoned mining camp and see what stories the pieces of the past can tell us. Lace up your boots and join park volunteer, Keith Akenhead, for a captivating hike through time. We’ll journey to the historic Willow Springs area, where the echoes of the Gold Rush and stagecoach era still linger among the remnants of an abandoned mining camp. Along the way, we’ll uncover the stories hidden in weathered timbers and rustic relics - each a clue to the lives once lived here. Hike Details Meet Location: Mesquite Trailhead at Area 7 Distance: Approximately 6.5 miles round trip Difficulty: Moderate to difficult What to Bring: At least 3 liters of water, snacks, and a spirit of adventure Space is limited to 15 participants, so don’t wait - call the Nature Center at 602-506-2930 ext. 5 to reserve your spot today!
