More Information

Join Ranger Kevin for an informative hike about the native plants that call the Sonoran Desert home. April is Native Plant Month, and we are excited to give our native plants a little love. Come along and find out what makes our cactus, tree and shrub species so special. Plus, we’ll talk about why using native plants in your front-or-backyard landscape is a great idea. We’ll be hiking about 2.3 miles in total, and trails are rated easy-moderate, with some loose rock, uneven terrain, and elevation change. Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Hats and sunscreen are also highly recommended. Restrooms and water are available at the Nature Center. NO pets, please. MEETING LOCATION: Gila Trailhead Limit 20 participants. To register, please call the Nature Center at (602) 506-2930 ext. 6. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please call the Nature Center ASAP so we may contact those on the waiting list. Registration for this program will close on 4/15.
