Join Ranger Nikki on an easy to moderate walk to explore riparian and desert trails at the preserve. Learn about the plants and animals of the preserve’s riparian and desert areas on a 3-mile guided walk with Ranger Nikki. The route follows the easy terrain of Palm Loop, Mesquite Meander, Lion’s and River Ramble Trails and an optional climb up to Lyke’s Lookout, with 90 feet of elevation gain on a rocky section of trail. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring a hat, sunscreen and plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Visitor Center. For those of you participating in the annual Maricopa County Parks 100 Miles in 100 Days Challenge, this is a great way to earn miles towards your goal! The Challenge runs November 1, 2024 – February 8, 2025. To register, please call the Visitor Center at 602-506-2930 ext. 9 with your name, phone number and number of people attending.
