More Information

Come climb the mountain with Ranger Shaun! We’ll head to the top of Yavapai Point. Along the way we’ll discuss the plants and animals we see and the unique habitat and ecosystem they’ve built for themselves here in the Sonoran Desert. At the top we can pause to take in a stunning view of the lake before heading back, lighter the water, but heavier the experience. Water bottle and closed toed shoes required. Hat and sunscreen recommended. Feel free to bring whatever hiking equipment makes you comfortable. Restrooms and water will be available at the trailhead. No pets please. MEETING LOCATION: Cottonwood Day Use Area Limit 10 participants. To register, please email Ranger Shaun at shaun.barnett@maricopa.gov with your name, phone number and number of people attending. If you find you cannot attend a program after you have registered, please email back ASAP so those on the waiting list may be contacted. Registration for this program will close on 04/03/25.
