Join Ranger Nikki on a slow-paced walk to observe scorpions and other nocturnal animals. Ranger Nikki will lead you on a walk to search for bark, striped-tail and giant hairy scorpions as well as other nocturnal critters such as bats, owls, tarantulas and more. The route starts on a short portion of Pemberton Trail to connect onto Tortoise Trail for an out-and-back walk totaling 2 miles. The terrain is mostly level but there are a few spots that are uneven with small to medium rocks underfoot. Bring your blacklight and a regular flashlight. No pets, please. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Restrooms and water are available at the Trailhead. Please bring $7 cash for the self-pay station or your annual pass to display on your vehicle.
