Maricopa County Parks and Recreation: Sunset Hike

Join Ranger Olivia for a hike to see the iconic desert sunset over the Estrella Mountains. Ranger Olivia leads this picturesque hike to watch the sun set while also talking about anything plants or animals that are of interest along the way. We will see the sunset, a beautiful mountain view, and maybe some evening critters as well. You may bring your blacklight and regular flashlight to look for evening critters(optional). This hike will start on the Quail trail where we will connect onto Saddle trail for a 1-1.5-mile out and back hike. The terrain is rated easy to moderate and ranges from even and smooth with small to medium rocks underfoot and slight elevation gain. Wear closed-toe shoes and bring plenty of water. Restrooms will be available at the Trailhead. PLEASE NOTE: Outdoor summer programs may be canceled on short notice due to severe weather, including extreme heat events.
