More Information

🚀Are you a budding writer with a passion for space? Athenian’s “Mission to Mars: Space Diary” contest inspired by NASA is calling your name! Dive deep into the world of space science, unleash your creativity, and join us on this epic journey!

What do you want to be when you grow up? A firefighter, a doctor, a photographer, a writer, an engineer? Guess what, you are needed on Mars! Write your story of what your life will be like in 2044 as you are on your way out to Mars! This could help shape the story of your life. You at 30-something, just imagine what you will be doing!

We are inviting students from across the United States of America to compete in this immersive creative writing experience. This is a free contest for all students in grades 6 thru 12 to join.

Through research, recorded interviews, writing prompts, and Q+A sessions with NASA experts, registered students will ignite their imagination and invent, through their writing, a vision of their own “mission” to the Red Planet twenty years from now.

The Top 10 entries will be published in a book and launched on National STEM Day at the San Diego Air and Space Museum on November 8, 2024.

How to Get Involved:
NOW: Register for free at BeAthenian.org/Mission-to-Mars-Contest.
SEP 1: Final book submission due
NOV 8: The Top 10 stories will be announced and celebrated at the San Diego Air & Space Museum

Exciting news! All students registered for the Mission to Mars who submit a book by September 1 will receive the winning Mission Patch, unveiled at the Press Conference on November 8.

Don’t miss out on this stellar opportunity!
