Pewter Casting Beskar Ingots

Cost

Join Chad McIntyre for a hands-on workshop on pewter casting beskar ingots.

Looking to hire a smuggler to get you through the Empire’s checkpoint 7? Need to settle up on a debt with a hired bounty hunter? How about wanting to learn a skill that dates back a few thousand years? Well, learning some of the basics of pewter casting might be what you are looking for. We are going to see what steps it takes to go from raw pewter ingot to a finished cast piece. And no better way than casting a few Beskar ingots. In this course you will be introduced to silicone casting a mold of the original, prepping the molds for pewter casting, and finally casting the pewter piece. We’ll also show you a few different types of finishes you can do to the casting to give it a personal touch. It may not get you through the Kessel run under 12 parsecs, but it definitely add to your skill set as a maker. This is the way.

About your Facilitator:

I have been a maker for as long as I can remember. If you ask my mother, I started out as a deconstruction expert. I had the ability to completely take apart anything you put in front of me, but hadn’t learned the skills to reassemble. Once I realized that most of my joy came from making, a whole new world was opened up to me. I spent the first 20 years of my professional career as a chef. The knowledge and experience I gained from having to be creative and quick thinking directly influenced every project that I became part of. After many years behind a chef’s apron, I made the decision to do more fabrication and product construction. I have built custom pieces for some movies/motion cap companies. Several of my bigger builds have been custom draft beer towers. I tend to do a lot of “one of a kind” fabrications for clients. My current workshop is set up to be able to have small groups for maker classes. Most of the classes are geared for ages of 6-14.
