More Information

PAS Free Telescope Workshops are held at PVCC Main Campus in room G-147. To attend: RSVP is required. Email Events@pasaz.org with Make & Model of your telescope, number in your party & the date of this event. Seating is limited. If a Telescope Teacher is not availble to help with your model telescope, you may be asked to attend the next scheduled telescope workshop. RSVP Must be received by end of day, the day before the event Apr 12th. You can cancel your RSVP on the day of the event, but I will not take any new RSVP’s after 12:00 Am Thursday morning. What to bring: Bring your telescope & accessories, plus something to take notes on and with. What PAS does for you: Learn how to properly set up and enjoy your telescope. The Telescope teachers will assist in any small repairs as well as give you info on what eyepieces, filters, and other accessories you may wish to have to enhance your viewing pleasure through your telescope. It is highly suggested you bring wheels to transport your telescope equipment from your vehicle to room G-147. What if I do not own a telescope? If you don’t have a telescope, you can attend to find out what type of telescope would fit your Telescope Viewing Goals. Bring something to take notes on and with. Be sure to RSVP that you are attending to find out what telescope to purchase. There is nothing to purchase at these workshops. It is for information & advice only. Sometimes, we have fun viewing through each others’ telescope. Note: Outside G-147 has lots of light pollution, but brighter planets, the Moon and some objects can be viewed from this location. This portion of the event is Weather Permitting. Telescopes will only go outside if there is no falling rain (this cancels the event), not too many clouds, and no high winds or gusts of winds. See attached PVCC Campus Map to find room G-147. Next Free Telescope Workshop after this one will be: October 2023 - Date TBA PAS may plan a telescope workshop or 2 during the summer months, in a different location. Watch fort it’s announcement at www.pasaz.org Calendar.     Directions to G-147 from the SW Parking Lot: Park in the SW parking lot marked Parking in lower left corner of the attached PVCC Campus Map – this is closest location to G-147. 2 Ways to get to the room depending on if you are wheeling something, or just walking to the room:   Walking: Take the stairs between buildings H & J, walk that walkway all the way down to then end of the G building where the Red X is. Wheeling: Take the path between buildings H & LS which leads to a ramp where the LS building pokes out into the walkway. Use the Ramp to wheel your equipment up to the walkway along the G building.
