Explore science through this lecture series covering a wide range of topics from local experts in their field. Little Big Bugs: How insects enrich our natural world and why we should protect them. What is the role of insects in the natural world, and what can we learn by observing these tiny animals? We often take insects for granted or even view them as pests - and yet while tiny they can have big impacts (for good or bad) on humanity. This month, please join us for a presentation by Arizona State University teaching professor and entomologist, Zack Shaffer. We will learn about the state of insect biodiversity, discuss the secret lives of insects, and brainstorm ways we can help our tiny six-legged friends. Stay afterward to see an extensive collection of pinned insect specimens and live Madagascar Hissing cockroaches!
