Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley has proclaimed October 21st as Milwaukee County Urban Agriculture Day and we couldn’t be more excited!
We are thrilled to introduce the first-ever Milwaukee urban agriculture conference, Milwaukee Urban AgCon, a unique gathering of urban agriculture professionals, enthusiasts, and community leaders coming together to share knowledge, innovation, and best practices in urban agriculture.
This exciting event takes place on October 21, 2024, at Harold S. Vincent School of Agricultural Science. This one-day conference is designed to bring together experts and stakeholders from various sectors, including urban agriculture, sustainability, food systems, and community development.
At Milwaukee Urban AgCon you’ll have the opportunity to:
* Network with fellow urban agriculture enthusiasts, farmers, and industry experts * Participate in interactive panel discussions * Learn from local and national presenters on topics such as urban agriculture policy, food justice, and innovative farming techniques * Take a tour to learn more about the agriculture program at Harold S. Vincent School of Agricultural Science * Explore the latest trends and technologies in urban agriculture * Enjoy a sampling of local food and drinks
Industry Education Leader Melinda Myers will kick off the opening ceremony, and the panels will feature local experts discussing the topics of:
Panel 1: Alternative Growing Methods: Innovative Solutions for Urban Spaces Panel 2: Youth in Urban Ag: Supporting the Next Generation Panel 3: AgriBusiness Resources: Finding The Tools You Need to Succeed
The conference will also feature an exhibit hall showcasing local urban agriculture businesses, organizations, and initiatives, You’ll have the chance to connect with these innovators and learn about their projects firsthand. You will also have the opportunity to take a guided tour of Harold S. Vincent School of Agricultural Science!
