This hour-long tour of Sloss Furnaces gives participants a close-up look at the historic furnaces and how they made iron for almost 90 years. The tour covers the history of Birmingham industry, the experiences of the workers who made the iron, and the science and technology behind the ironmaking process. The tour costs $10 per person.
Public guided tours need to be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance, and can be scheduled Tuesday-Saturday at either 10:30am or 2:00pm.
