Star Party at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area

Public star party at Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, 16710 Ranch Road 965, Fredericksburg, TX 78624. The public is invited to observe the sky through our telescopes. We’ll show such objects as Saturn, galaxies, nebulae, star clusters, and more.  Festivities will take place on parking lot 1 to the right just after the park headquarters (follow the signs).

There is no charge for the star party itself, but visitors must reserve a day pass for $8 for ages 13 and up, with children 12 and under free. Reserve a spot with hannah.pickens@tpwd.texas.gov .

We want to avoid white light at night so a flashlight with a red bulb is good to help see your way in the dark. Please do not bring a dog, unless it is a service animal; we prefer not to have dogs around the telescopes in the dark. Smoking is not permitted in the area of the telescopes because the smoke can damage optical equipment. Public consumption of alcoholic beverages is not allowed in state parks.
