The stigma of mental health is very real and is the most significant barrier for military members and veterans seeking support with life stressors. The military mindset is a strength that often leads to despair, avoidance, and too often suicide. The goal of this presentation is to further the dialogue. Dr. Michael Maisano is a trained Clinical Psychologist and founder of the Silent Survivors Project and Arizona Frontline Theatre. Dr. Maisano served as an Infantry enlisted Marine and an Arizona Army National Guard Military Police Commissioned Officer. He deployed to Iraq as a Platoon Leader from 2006 to 2007.
