More Information

Trip difficulty: Easy. ~ 2 miles. We will follow existing dirt trails. They were recently regraded and are level with gentle slopes. Rio Vista Natural Resources Park is one of two of this type of park managed by Tucson Parks and Recreation. We will meet and start in the grassy area adjacent to the parking lot, insuring we see the resident Vermillion Flycatchers, and maybe a few sparrows. The park is open scrub habitat, and it is fairly easy to locate birds. We will find the year round residents and it may be timely to see early returning migrants such as Lucy’s Warblers, White Wing Doves, and Bell’s Vireos. Leaders: Gary Bachman and Scott Olmstead Registration for Tucson Bird Alliance Members is free. Non-members can join this field trip for a non-refundable fee of $5.
