Astro on Tap – Valley of the Sun invites you on a journey across space, time and Sci-Fi media!

First stop, Io. Prof. David Williams takes us to Jupiter’s moon Io. It is barely bigger than our Moon, yet it has more than 400 volcanoes blasting sulfurous plumes hundreds of kilometers high. Why is it so active? Expect new results from NASA’s Juno mission and a look at future missions to Io.

Then we boldly go. SESE PhD student Lana Tilke pits the real planets of our Solar System and beyond against the worlds of Star Trek, just in time for First Contact’s 30th anniversary.

Don’t miss your chance to engage with us this Wednesday, November 4th!
