Get excited for Astronomy on Tap at Bickerson’s Brewhouse in Ballard at 7pm! Each FREE Astronomy on Tap event features accessible, engaging science presentations on topics ranging from planets to black holes to the beginning of the Universe. Most events have games and prizes to test and reward your new-found knowledge! There is always lots of time to ask questions and interact with the presenters and other scientists who inevitably stick around for the beer. Be sure to follow us on Twitter (@AoTSeattle), Instagram (@aotseattle), TikTok (@astroontapseattle) and here on Facebook to get updates on future events! Can’t make it to our event in person? Have no fear because you can always catch the live stream on our YouTube account or rewatch past favorites (https://www.youtube.com/@astronomyontapseattle2986/streams)! ————– Speaker Bios: Professor Jessica Werk specializes in observations of the vast, gas-filled gulfs of space between the stars and galaxies, carried out mainly with the Hubble Space Telescope. She is passionate about thermodynamics, teaching students about the wonders of the cosmos, and spending quality time with family. She also enjoys making up wild and scary stories for her nieces and nephews, playing the piano and guitar, and making a mess of DIY home improvement projects. Professor Matt McQuinn is a theoretical astrophysicist and cosmologist at the University of Washington. He studies the evolution of cosmic matter from the infant Universe up until the present. Basically, he refuses to study anything unless it’s larger than a galaxy! He loves the dark universe, crazy space telescope ideas, and quantum mechanics.
