Get excited for Astronomy on Tap at Bickerson’s Brewhouse in Ballard at 7pm! Each FREE Astronomy on Tap event features an accessible, engaging science presentations on topics ranging from planets to black holes to the beginning of the Universe. Most events have games and prizes to test and reward your new-found knowledge! There is always lots of time to ask questions and interact with the presenters and other scientists who inevitably stick around for the beer. In her free time, she enjoys playing piano, painting, and embroidery. John Franklin Crenshaw is a final year Physics PhD student at UW. He studies the large scale structure of the universe to learn about the birth and evolution of galaxies and to extract information about fundamental physics and our cosmic origins. He also works on the active optics system for the Vera Rubin Observatory. In his free time, he enjoys alpine climbing, backcountry skiing, and watching movies.
