More Information

eShark is the cornerstone project of eOceans. eShark Thailand and the Great Fiji Shark Count were initiated by the tourism industries that depend on sharks — because they love them and because people fly around the world just to see them. When populations declined it was concerning. So they reached out to Dr. Ward-Paige and set up community log books to collect data, and then co-interpreted and published together. Fiji alone sampled 592 sites, and reported 146,000 shark observations on 30,000 dives. We are continuing this work globally through eShark. Join our team to share your observations and contribute to eShark!
