Sullenberger Aviation Museum is excited to host the 2nd annual Girls in Aviation Day in partnership with the Charlotte Chapter of non-profit, Women in Aviation. This event will include a raffle, activities with community partners, and a special panel discussion from 1:00 pm -2:00 pm. This event is open to the public. Sullenberger Aviation Museum is partnering with Carolina Aviators Network, Jungle Aviation and Relay Service, North Carolina Air National Guard Retirees Association and Operation Helo for a panel discussion about hurricane response and relief efforts. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita, and the first anniversary of Hurricane Helene, SAM will host a special event to highlight the incredible work these first responders and other organizations did to help relief efforts. Members can join us from 10:00 am - 10:45 am for a special meet and greet with the panelists. Members should reach out to Laurynn Furr at Laurynn@sullenbergeraviation.org if interested in participating- spaces are limited so RSVP today! At 11:00 am we will have a panel discussion reflecting on these historic weather events and hurricane relief efforts today. Following the panel discussion, Roman’s All Star Food Truck will be on site serving lunch until 3:00 pm.
