People of all ages can become builders, designers and creators in a brand-new pop-up experience, Boxopolis: A Creative Cardboard City. This hands-on community project encourages visitors to explore their creativity and imagination in a shared space, working together to design and build a cityscape using recyclable materials and inventive tools. Included with general admission and free for museum members.

Join Discovery Place Science and the future Charlotte Museum of Nature for Wildacres Weekend, May 1-3 in Little Switzerland, NC. Set at 3,300 ft in the stunning Blue Ridge mountains, our expert naturalists will guide you on inspiring hikes and fun nature activities, creating unforgettable memories for you and your loved ones. This event welcomes nature lovers of all ages, with activity tracks for adults, families and young explorers 2-5 (accompanied by an adult). Enjoy sunrise yoga, salamander hunts, wildflower walks, stargazing and owl prowls. Get your hands dirty with pottery, metal, wood and watercolors. Then relax during evening socials with local musicians, cozy campfires and s’mores.
